Blue and beautiful are the two best words to describe this plant. The
distinctive blue foliage stands out in the landscape where this pyramidal
tree commands attention. The lush needles are soft to the touch, typical of
other Balsam Firs. It is a fairly compact grower that prefers well-drained
soil. It enjoys full sun but will maintain its attractive blue color in
part shade. |

| Description:
This may the the best Fir for the eastern US. It prefers and makes its
best growth on moist, rich, well-drained soils. Dislikes heavy clay.
Root system is usually shallow unless grown in well-drained sandy soils.
Trees do not produce cones annually. Trees are known to live up to 500 years
on native habitat. Old trees often are hollow. Pest tolerant and deer
resistant. Makes a good substitute for Colorado Blue Spruce. |

Fraser Fir likes an organic, moist soil. Makes one the nicest
Christmas trees and is very popular! Pyramidal shape. Tolerates

usually shallow and grow straight out from the trunk. Red squirrels love the
terminal buds and seeds. |

An unusual shade of gray-green needles provide the backdrop for the
plentiful resin covered buds on this dwarf Fir. The flat needles are
spirally arranged on short, light colored shoots, forming a uniform, tight,
globe-shaped plant. Excellent for the rock garden. Prefers moist

fall and winter. Short, wide, deep green needles, accented with
